Week 38: Novels and iRead Party!

Wow! I can hardly believe that the school year is almost finished. First of all, a big thank you for the kind emails, and gifts for Teacher Appreciation week. I love what I do so much and LOVE teaching your kids. Thank you for taking time to thank me, it meant more than you'll ever know.

This week is going to be a lot of fun as we continue to dive into the novels the students selected. It's been really fun to read contemporary book/film hits such as: Maze Runner, Hunger Games, Max, Best Friend, Hero, Marine and The Giver. I'll be sending home books so we can enjoy the movie and do some compare/contrast before school is out.

The iRead party is Wednesday, May 11th. The bus will leave at 9am and we'll be back by 12:15pm. Remember that permission slips are required and students will need to bring a home lunch unless they've already ordered a school lunch (it was all on the permission slip). Many thanks to our parent volunteers, I'll be emailing/texting you on Monday. A gigantic thank you to our sponsors: providing the funds for our iRead program dramatically increased the amount of reading we saw this year and we are so grateful...just thank you!

Please keep in touch, let's push hard to finish strong and do the best we can these last couple weeks. I'm going to miss this amazing group of students! Thanks again for the support.
