Book-to-Film Book Report

Please remember the Book-to-Film Book Report is DUE next Wednesday, September 26th.  If students turn it in early, they receive a piece of candy and an entry into the monthly Robins Raffle.  Please encourage your student to work hard and successfully complete their assignment.   I am looking forward to some spectacular work from the students!  I'm posting a Top 5 List about the book report on the board today to answer some questions I have had, here it is for everyone:

Top 5 List: Book-to-Film Book Reports

1.  Yes, the Book-to-Film Book Report is due on Wednesday, September 26th.
2.  Yes, you can turn it in early for a piece of candy and an extra entry into the monthly Robins Raffle.
3.  Yes, you must have an illustration for every section of the report--you can draw OR print out pictures and glue them in.
4.  You must have the 2-page Pre-Writing Venn Diagrams fully completed and attached to the back of your Book-to-Film Book Report.
5.  Yes, I'll accept late work but I will subtract from your effort grade so please turn it in on time.




Book-to-Movie Rubric:
Compare and Contrast:                                                                                                          __________/20
¨     The student demonstrates an ability to identify specific similarities and differences between the book they read and the movie they watched.  Pre-Writing Venn Diagrams (4 total: introduction, story sequence, conclusion and main character) are complete and stapled to the back.
¨     Some of these specific differences relate to story elements (plot, character, setting, theme, and point of view).

¨     The student analyzes specific details from the book and movie.
¨     These details provide evidence the student both read the book and watched the movie.
¨     The details the student selects are unknown to those that have not read/watched the book/movie.

¨     4-6 mistakes = 8/10
¨     7-9 mistakes = 6/10
