I really enjoyed meeting many of you last week at our Parent/Teacher Conferences. Your kind words, support and encouragement meant the world to me. Thank you!
Last week was a lot of fun with our coin drive, Crazy Hair Day (see photo section the blog), It's A Job Unit and a very fun Gecko Time. Thank you to everyone for working hard and having a great attitude!
Just as a reminder, any late work is always accepted but I will have to penalize your students effort grade. If your student has not handed in their book report yet, I need it ASAP. With 140 book reports to grade, it will take me at least a week, recorded and handed back, so please be patient.
Here are a few dates to add to your calendar for this month:
October 17th: Book Orders Due (just click on link on the blog or send in a check)
October 18th & 19th: FALL BREAK
October 23rd-25th: CRT Prep Testing (details to come)
October 24th: Book Report Due (your student's choice of book and type of report)
This week, we will be continuing our "It's A Job" Unit by learning more parts of speech and beginning our group posters. All the work will be completed in class. See the blog entry ("Santa Clara Flood Victims") about the writing activity our class will do to help students in Henryville, Indiana. They will be bringing a form home for you to sign, please do so and return it as soon as you can.
As always, please contact me by email (rrobins@lavaridge.net) or call me at the (652-4742) with any questions or concerns. It's going to be a great week!
